I had been using wood chips purchased from my local feed store. I started using these paper bedding for our guinea pig. I mixed this paper bedding with the Kaytee paper bedding (purchased separately) together. Our guinea has a large cage. I noticed since the switch to paper bedding that I don’t have to clean my guinea’s cage as often. There is less odor & more absorbency with the paper shavings as opposed to the wood shavings. I highly recommend buying the Kaytee paper bedding & mixing the two beddings together. Now I only change out the bedding every week & a half. I also like this bedding because it’s lightweight. I bought a large, plastic storage container to hold the bedding. I have yet to find good packaging where the bedding doesn’t fall out once you open the package.

I normally change my bedding every Weds, last week I got this.. And there was a DRAMATIC difference in odor control. Even the buddy who is boarding them told me there’s no stink after 6 days. When I went to check each tub, so much cleaner, no ammonia smell, and I had no mess issues or sneezing issues. It’s taken me 4 months to find the ultimate bedding.. This will be a continuous buy!!!

I’ve been using this for years for my rabbit, and used to use it when I had rats. In desperate times when I’ve run out, I’ve tried other brands that claim to have a similar product, but there is no comparison. CareFresh is thick and soft, so it absorbs like nobody’s business, and fluffy to a lot of liquid gets pulls away from your pet (especially important now that my rabbit is disabled and can’t move himself away from his messes). It keeps odors way down, and I’ve been able to use less of it than I have other litters. It’s also safe for pets to chew and eat, because we know some pets are real weirdos. It’s a little more expensive than other litters, but it really is the best and lasts a long time.

It is so much easier to have this delivered by Amazon than stuffing it in your cart etc at the store. The litter spells great, it does a great job absorbing fluids and feces of the pets (we use them for our indoor rabbits and a hedgehog), and this type of bedding naturally repels fleas. And even better, the price on Amazon is cheaper than Walmart. With good quality bedding, we don’t have to change the litter but once a week with the rabbit, and once every 2 or more weeks with the hedgehog. It absorbs the odor and the animals seem comfortable and at ease.

Highly recommend. Cheapest bedding that you can find anywhere. My hamster doesn’t really care about bedding and would rather be snug in some paper towel and tissues, so I use this bedding to musk up the odor which it does a great job in.I have a dwarf hamster, she likes to sleep on her bed of tissues, so I change that every other day, but other than the bed, there is carefresh bedding everywhere else, so when she does her business (especially around her wheels and playground) the refresh really absorbs everything up.When the carefresh bedding starts feeling tough or hard, that is when I change the bedding. I assume that happens because my hamster did her business and it got absorbed into the bedding, making this rough. She lives in a 2 floor, 2 feet by 1 feet house which I connect the top and bottom with tunnels. I only need to change her bedding once every 3 weeks, sometimes even 4 if she only does her business in her bed.I purchased the 60L bedding last September and I still haven’t used it all up yet! About 1/8 left.If your going to get a hamster, than I would highly recommend. Will have you so much.

I buy the confetti colored bedding for my two guinea pigs in 50L size and it lasts for about 6 weeks with daily spot cleanings (removing wet bedding only) and weekly deep cleaning (full removal). Only a third of their enclosure is paper bedding (18×18″ area)The confetti bedding is way better than the white bedding in that the confetti bedding is compacted more in the package so you get more (white was loose and lasted half the amount of time) and the confetti bedding is not dusty and the white bedding was extremely dusty even leaving white dust covered guinea pig poo. This is the least expensive way to buy safe paper bedding that I’ve found online. The paper is really absorbent and because it’s colored brightly, the urine doesn’t discolor it! I don’t have any issues with odor control at all but I spot clean the cage daily so that helps. I haven’t tried the natural or blue yet but the confetti is great, just don’t buy the white bedding.

The best paper bedding I know of and far superior for Guinea pigs than other products. It is dust free, controls odor, soft for their feet and easy to keep clean. Just pick up the poop and wet spots, add clean bedding and they are good to go. Fleece can be attractive but unless changed almost daily it “smells” and while less expensive than paper bedding, I don’t have the time to do laundry almost daily. I should also note that Carefresh is a terrific company…I received several bags of inferior quality that I had ordered online made by a new supplier to them and they immediately appologized and sent me coupons for free replacements when I reported it to them. Not many companies will do that.Move ahead to May 2018…I don’t know what happened to Carefresh but their soft, fluffy paper beddding has been replaced by large clumps of hard pieces of paper that have a chemical smell and do not absorb urine as well. I again reached out to the company which again offered free coupons for replacement bags but the bags in the stores are just as bad so that was no help. I’m afraid to order online because I don’t know what I’ll receive. In the past I’ve returned bags to Amazon, Chewy and Petsmart online. I think my days of buying Carefresh Ultra are over and that is really sad.

I am a very picky guinea pig owner. We have tried every single possible bedding for guinea pigs and carefresh is by far the absolute best product. I am very sensitive to smells and I am very intolerant of urine smell. We have two male guinea pigs in a C and C cage and I want it to stay order free all the time. I find with care fresh, we go through much less of the bedding even though we pay a little more. Over all it is much more economical to use carefresh bedding van some of the other cheaper brands. The guinea pigs seem to really enjoy this bedding as well. They hop around and seem to be comfortable sleeping on it. I will save myself the time and energy of trying all the different types of bedding and just stick with carefresh from now on.
