I’m new at keeping up with a fish tank. My kids got me a 10 gallon fish tank for my birthday. This gravel cleaner is simple to put together. The problem I had was it drains your fish tank super fast. That’s ALL my fault because as a beginner I was too slow to move the nozzle quickly and I lacked the confidence. It cleaned the tank excellent ! But because I was too slow moving the nozzle around I only got about half the tank cleaned before I was getting way too low on water level . Now I have a better understanding that I need to go around the tank more quickly so next time I don’t drain the water out of the tank too fast. So I give it a 5 star because it’s so simple to put together and it literally cleans the gravel and bottom of the tank spotless !

I do not write a ton of reviews but I HAVE to review this amazing time saver!! We have a snapping turtle and I was having to clean his tank 2-3 times a month. It was such a pain. This product allowed me to siphon almost all of the yuck out of the tank while adding in fresh water. Suction is amazing and I don’t have any issues. We have larger rocks, so I don’t know how it would work on gravel, but I don’t see how it would be an issue.

this product is so simple to use but I suggest to have a big bucket because it pulls the water out so fast with just a few pumps of the trigger and without disturbing the fish you may not be able to stop in from over flowing til you get the hang of it. I can highly recommend this product

Ok I THOUGHT I had a clean fish tank. I had a gravel vac that did ok work, but it was kinda old, and I figured a new vac couldn’t hurt.I just emptied 10 gallons of BLACK water from my gravel. The water literally STUNK. It was so gross.Only maybe con, is that your length from handle to end of the tube only comes in 2 sizes (I have a 30 gallon tank on a stand) and the big size is too big, and the small size is too small- not a huge issue, I just stood on a step stool.And a little bit my hand hurt from pulling the trigger so many times- but I quickly realized you gotta do like a rapid fire trigger pulls, and then the water naturally starts flowing through- so that’s not a con, just a user issue!Get this. Do your fish a favor and get this.

Looks gimmicky, works fantastic! This is great for water changes – a few squeezes of the trigger and the water simply flows. The hose is a bit soft and tends to kink, but that’s the only drawback. Oh, and mind the inflow that your fish don’t get to close. Even though there is a grate catch on the ‘gun’, there isn’t on the suction tube (and probably should be), so if you aren’t siphoning debris off gravel, your fish could be sucked in. Overall, a great product!

update: so as I said in the lower stuff I bought this for a 10-gallon tank and the gallons per minute that it sucked out was way too fast. I didn’t realize that there was a clamp for the hose that you can adjust in and out slow down the flow rate. it actually works pretty dang nice once I slowed down the flow rate.I would definitely buy this thing again if I needed to.There have been people that have written in the review that they suck their fish up into this suction device and killed their fish. I find that hard to believe unless they were chasing their fish with it. I bought this for a 10-gallon of tank. This vacuum system has too much of a volume for 10 gallon tank. It’s gallons per minute did not give me enough time to vacuum up even 30% of the gravel. That being said it is a very nice system for a bigger tank. Hence why I give it five stars. It’s easy to use and functions quite nicely especially for the amount of money that it costs. But once again I suggest this be used on larger tanks at least 20 gallons plus if not more

Ii have a ton of tanks. And plecos which poop a lot. This helps clean that all up! Push the trigger a few times and clean it up in No time!I use mine with a 50 foot hose to siphon right outside

We’ve been anxiously awaiting for this cleaner to arrive. We got a 30 gal tank for our 1 year old red eared slider and he’s pretty filthy. The water was starting to get cloudy and this pump arrived just in time to clean the tank. I had it together and using it in less than 5 minutes. It emptied the tank in about 5 minutes. We have rather large rocks (1/4″-3/8″) and it was able to suck them into the cleaning tube. My 12 year old had so much fun cleaning with it I’m sure he’ll take over the chore.Great product, highly recommended, especially for the price. It makes the task so much more easy.

I have several divided tanks and I struggle to get the normal syphon in to clean. This little tool helped so much my bare bottom tank looks great again. My tanks with sand look amazing. I did have to cut one of the tubes to make it a little shorter but that was easy. Cleans well and quickly. The bright color makes it easy to find dropped Peace’s as well

Fantastic product, good suction easy to use, small footprint and love the pistol grip. Gets under decorations between plants and in corners. Hose nice and heavy duty that you can splice together more and wallah, a mini python syphon which I have. But it’s so cumbersome…wish I saw this one first. Easy peasy and clean up is a breeze. Python is good too but this is fast, easy and light. Like I said can splice more hose on to reach to the outside or wherever. I LOVE IT SO MUCH I’m getting another for the fish tank at my Mom’s house. This hose would be over kill for 20 gals or less but I have 40 gal tanks. Python overkill for that size but it has it’s place. The trigger can be pulled on and off and it shakes the gravel for you. You won’t go wrong with this product.
