This heater works fantastic! I’m really impressed. I’ve had 2 of these heaters for almost a year. The one in my 5 gallon tank in my bedroom stays at 80°f. The temperature sensor on this thing is super accurate. It won’t kick on during the summer when my room temperature is around 84 thus keeping the tank at 80 without needing the heater. The other one is in my 3.5 gallon tank in the dining room with the big window ac unit that is off during the winter (or at least the cold days like this week were our temps aren’t getting about 45°f ) & it’s a bit drafty. Not enough of a draft to notice unless you are standing still like during feeding times but enough to lower the room temp. My apartment is heated with those old style gas wall heaters so it’s not evenly heated. While my other tanks with name brand 50 watt preset heaters are struggling to keep my 5 & 10 gallon tanks above 75 to where I covered them with blankets to give them 2° increase, this one is keeping my 3.5 gallon at a perfect 79. Normally it stays at 80 but it’s a bit cooler in the room so 79 is acceptable. Definitely better than the 74° I’m getting from the other heater in the bigger tank just below it. Definitely recommend this heater for up to 5 gallons.

Keeps my betta’s tank at around 77 to 78 on a very cold day in our house (we like it cold, our thermostat in our house reads between 63 and 69) – perfect for my 5 gallon betta tank. In the 3 to 4 days we’ve used it, it’s been a consistent temp with 2 different thermometer readings, so it does what it’s supposed to do. Not sure how people are saying it’s heating their tank to the point where it’s killing their fish, the wattage isn’t high enough to do that. Anyway, good buy for us.

I love the size. Compact for smaller Betta aquariums like this 3 gallon. Accurate temperature. Like all thermometers, let them adjust to water temp before turning on and shut off for water changes.

Our betta fish (Fish) freakin loves it. He’s super active now, but spent the first night huddled up near the heater. He’s been a little slow for awhile in our ~65 degree house and I started feeling guilty about not turning the heat on, but man is he fighty and active when I come near him now. The bonus temperature sticker is really handy too, and keeps lighting up 74 and 76 since after about 2 days of use. Hope it lasts! So far, awesome product

As soon as I got it, I soaked the heater in warm water for 30 mins to get rid of any chemicals, smell, whatever that was on it from its packaging. Then I installed the heater by the filter where most of the water current occurs (it’ll heat up the tank more thoroughly and faster). We got my betta before the heater arrived so it had to endure 72° for 2 days. It did take 2 hours to heat the 3.5 gallon tank from 72° to 78°. That was fine because it allowed my betta to gradually adjust to the temperature change. When I put the heater in, the light was red. Then when the temperature reached 78°, it turned green. The temperature sticker that came with it highlighted 77° and 78° so I guess it is pretty accurate. I decided to check with my infrared thermometer just to make sure. Both inside and outside temperature said 78°. My betta seems to be enjoying the warm water as it is swimming more and showing off its curious personality. Anyway… It’s a small heater that is not a big eye sore in your tank and pretty accurate. I’m happy with this purchase.

I have been through several small heaters from local pet stores and was out of options. Nothing lasted more than a few months. These are being used in 3.5g betta tanks, and I’ve had fish for decades… no expert but for example I would never ever run a heater dry.Anyway, I got these after two heaters gave out and the poor fish got chilled. For the short term i wrapped the tanks in blankets with handwarmers. Within a few hours of putting these heaters on, the betta perked up and came out of hiding. He has since built a gigantic bubble nest!I can’t say anything about how long they last but I really like that it has an indicator light so I can keep tabs on it.The suction cups are small so I didn’t have much trouble affixing to a round tank.FYI I have 1 in the betta tank and another in a 5.5g community tank. Both tanks are staying at the same temp

I just wanted to write a quick review. When I was looking for a tank heater I was so torn with the bad reviews. My tank is 3.5 gallons and I have 1 Beta and 3 snails. I placed the heater in the tank for 2 days before I put my Beta in. It stays at about 82. It is chilly in my office s I think this is why. My Beta and his pals have been in the tank now for over 24 hours. Everyone is active and happy. My Beta does not she any signs of stress and his colors are very vibrant. He stays busy swimming around. I am very satisfied so far with the heater. It has not gotten over 82 and the heater seems to adjust based on the temp in my office.

Keeps Shadow nice and warm in his 2.5 gallon tank! Water is always at 78. Haven’t had any problems whatsoever. Seller is good also, mine was missing the suction cup and they sent me a new one super fast!

When I was looking for a heater for my fish tank I was concern of all the reviews with dead fish from all kinds and brands of heaters. But after a lot of research I decided to give this one a shot. I must say I’m glad I did it works as expected the fish is happy and warm! I won’t lie the first few days I kept checking the temperature to make sure it was working as expected, would recommend that to anyone just a precaution. BTW I have a small 3 gallon tank with a Betta.

This review is written after 2-weeks of use. I’m using this heater for a 5 gallon tank with a beta in it. I’ve tested the water temperature several times since installing it and have used 2 different digital thermometers, each time it’s read 80 F. The adhesive strip provided says the water is 77.25 and the heater is set to 77 automaticaly, however, I trust that both my digital thermometers are accurate and it’s in-fact running 3F hot.As it very consistently runs at 80 F, I feel assured it’s doing well to maintain a steady temp and it keeps up rather easily in a 5 gal tank – short cycles between on and off. I recommend it, but as others have noted, it seems to run a tad hot.–4 MONTH UPDATE–Although my aquarium is never 77F, it does consistently stay at 80F. Of note, the aquarium temp will fluctuate depending of the room’s ambient temp; in my experience at 72F ambient the tank will stay 80F and at 75F ambient, the tank will be 81.5F. This is acceptable for me as I use central AC, but in a house where the temp goes higher than 75F it could be dangerous to most fish. Also, the adhesive thermometer strip corrected itself and is now accurately reading within +/- 0.5F. Otherwise, it seems to be a great small heater.
